SEED

Seed are a series of algorithmically constructed video loops. We took footage of our bodies and then wrote a program to copy these frames onto a master sequence applying rotation, scaling and tinting factors. More and more frames are applied to the master sequence in patterns defined by mathematical formula - but also based on forms often found in nature such as flowers, seeds or pollen shapes. Slowly the film is rendered frame by frame - usually hundreds of thousands of edits will be involved obviously much more than we could manage by hand.

Simulation of nature is central to our practice
