We’ve always wanted to see how our interactive artworks could be used in a theatrical setting and this project gave us the chance to find out. Thanks to support from Kent Couty Council Arts Investment Fund and a seed commission from Spare Tyre Theatre Company we ran workshops with local group Inspiration Inclusive Theatre (IIT) and presented the results at Theatre Royal Margate.
The show went brilliantly and was hugely appreciated by the Theatre Royale Margate audience. Our section involved all three IIT groups in dance, poetry and performance. The tech was also cued by two IIT members Elizabeth and Rachel. We’re already thinking about how to use the software in the future. There was an amazingly enthusiastic response from the young dancers and also those members who were less mobile but really got stuck into creating body shapes and patterns to fit the piece. Zoe and Peter were great hosts and provided just the right sort of theatrical framework perfect for each group to get involved. Below are a range of images from the performance.
Here is a short film we made of the rehearsals and performance which we presented at the New Diorama in London 2nd Nov 2018.
